Day 2 (Oct 27) - Madrid

Morning arrival in Madrid. Transfer to your hotel with a panoramic city tour en route. Afternoon is free. Welcome drink and cocktail at the Hotel Wellington.

Day 3 (Oct 28) - Madrid

Morning 'Artistic' tour of Madrid, including visits to the Royal Palace and Prado Museum. Afternoon and evening free. (B)

Day 4 (Oct 29) - Madrid / Toledo

Morning departure to visit El Escorial Monastery then continue to Toledo, where your city tour includes visits to the Church of St. Thomas, the Cathedral San Juan de los Reyes and the Jewish Quarter. Hotel Alfonso VI. (B,L,D)

Day 5 (Oct 30) - Toledo / Cordoba

Morning free in Toledo. Afternoon departure to Cordoba with panoramic sightseeing en route. Evening lecture on the history of Al-Andalus (to be confirmed) and dinner at Hotel Conquistador. (B,D)

Day 6 (Oct 31) - Cordoba

Full day tour of Cordoba, the 9th century capital of Al-Andalus, including visits to the Mosque, the Synagogue and the Jewish Quarter. (B,L)

Day 7 (Nov 1) - Cordoba / Seville

Morning free in Cordoba. Afternoon departure to Seville with panoramic sightseeing. The rest of the day is free to relax and explore the surroundings. In the evening dinner and 'Flamenco' show at Pateo Sevillano. Hotel Melia Colon. (B,D)

Day 8 (Nov 2) - Seville

Full day tour of Seville including visits to Spain's largest Cathedral, on which construction began in 1402 and is the final resting place of Columbus. You will also see the Giralda Tower, the Moorish Alcazar Palace, the Jewish Quarter and the Maria Luisa Park. (B, L)

Day 9 (Nov 3) - Seville / Ronda / Granada

After breakfast departure to Ronda, the picturesque town built on the edge of the Guadalevin Gorges, know as 'the cradle of bullfighting". Continue to Granada. Hotel Alhambra Palace. (B,L)

Day 10 (Nov 4) - Granada

Full day tour of Granada, where you will visit the Generalife Gardens and the famous Alhambra Palace. Farewell dinner at a typical restaurant. (B,D)

Day 11 (Nov 5) - Granada / USA

Morning departure transfer for your flight to Madrid, connecting with your flight to USA. (B)

Barcelona Optional Extension
Day 11 (Nov 5) - Granada / Barcelona

Departure transfer for a short flight to Barcelona. Arrival transfer to your hotel will be provided. Upon arrival you can walk down La Rambla to the harbor, to absorb the atmosphere. Hotel Avenida Palace. (B)

Day 12 (Nov 6) - Barcelona

Morning tour of Barcelona, when you will visit the old Gothic quarter, with its magnificent Cathedral, the Casa de los Canigos Palace and see fine works of architecture by Gaudi, including La Sagrada Familia. Afternnon free. 'Tapas' dinner at a typical restaurant. (B,D)

Day 13 (Nov 7) - Barcelona / USA

Morning departure transfer. Return flight to USA.
